Having worked on various government initiatives around youth and community, most recently providing back-to-work routes for young people aged 18-24, we have provided training from in-house sessions on equal opportunities and safeguarding to accredited level 3 OCN qualifications.
Level 3 OCN in Youth Work
Over the last 18 months, we have created our own Level 3 qualification, Skills for Youth and Community, which is accredited through the Open College Network. This qualification covers key youth and community skills, such as effective communication and empathy, as well as a transferable module on personal development. The course covers essential safeguarding areas such as child protection, health and safety, and equal opportunities, which all have legal implications and prepare our workers for responsible participation in the youth and community industry. As a recognised OCN centre, we have access to a variety of courses and can deliver training to suit as well as design courses to specific needs.
Early Years and Care NVQ Levels 2 and 3
We have offered several young adults the opportunity to work in a care setting after processing enhanced CRB checks and have supported access to NVQ training to qualify the workers alongside their placements. Following from these placements, a number of people have moved quickly into sustainable employment in the care environment and many are half way through completing their qualifications which will dramatically enhance their career prospects.
Mediation Skills
We have qualified mediation workers as part of our team and have delivered 2-day sessions for the likes of Hertfordshire County Council on mediation, covering the basic principles of mediation, the settings in which it can be used and how to effectively use mediation skills to work with young people and their families, which is our own particular area of expertise. This training course can be offered as skills-based or accredited through OCN if required. We can offer this training at your own venue and tailor training packages to your specific needs.
